    This camp is for all who are curious and creative. Campers will construct structures using a variety of building materials and their imagination. They can transform cardboard boxes into multiple levels with window treatments and entryways as well as explore surface textures and design on the interior and exterior using paint, recycled, and found natural materials. We will also go outside to create forts made of sticks and other items from nature. The skills of problem-solving, cooperation, and imaginative play will be the focus of this very fun and exciting week of camp.

  • YOUNG PICASSO ART MASTERS CAMP

  • YOUNG LEGO BUILDERS

    This camp is for our youngest and emerging LEGO builders. Campers will spend an exciting week of LEGO-building fun, using imagination and creativity to guide them in making original LEGO creations. In addition to open-ended LEGO play, campers will receive instruction in basic building design, learning how to create a solid base for buildings, incorporating wheels to make things go, bridging large gaps, and much more. If your child can’t get enough time building with LEGO bricks, this is the camp for him/her.
  • HARRY POTTER: JOURNEY FROM MUGGLE TO WIZARD

    All-Star Sports Camp is the perfect fit for the active child that just can’t get enough running, jumping, throwing, and kicking during the day. This skill- and game-based camp offers your young athlete the perfect opportunity to learn and excel in a variety of sports in an exciting camp setting. New skills will be taught, and old ones will be developed through carefully planned drills that are then practiced through age-appropriate competitions. Join veteran Hawken Day Camp counselors for an action-packed week of on-the-move sports fun.
  • MINECRAFT

    Ages 7-12 | One Week | 9am–3pm | Lyndhurst Campus

    Come enjoy a week exploring the virtual world of Minecraft. Daily adventures await every morning when campers enter pre-constructed worlds to solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and build virtual communities. Children will be able to exercise their creative muscles in the Minecraft camp’s very own Minecraft server. While set in “creative mode,” campers will be able to utilize unlimited resources to build whatever they can imagine and then explore each other’s creations. Hawken camp will supply laptops and mice, and a Hawken IT staff member will be available to assist children with computer skills as well as Minecraft gameplay.
  • CAMP LEAD Amazing Chase: Global Quest

    Pack your passports! This high-energy leadership camp takes adventure to a whole new level! In Amazing Chase: Global Quest, campers “journey” around the world, diving into fast-paced, culturally themed challenges that test their problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration skills. From negotiating international business deals to tackling global challenges, each day brings new destinations and bold missions that require strategic thinking and cross-cultural teamwork.  As they race from continent to continent, campers will develop advanced leadership skills, learn how to navigate diverse perspectives, and discover what it takes to lead on a global scale.
  • ADVANCED COMIC DRAWING

    This camp is designed to take comic enthusiasts and artists to the next level of drawing and developing unique characters and stories. If you have participated in the Cartooning/Comic Book History camp and enjoyed it, this is an opportunity to build on the skills you began developing. During this week of comic-focused fun, campers will work to create finished comic pages that tell the story of new characters. Professional cartoonist Thom Zahler will help guide campers through the process of producing a cohesive, well-crafted story and drawings that can be developed into a full series.
  • CUPCAKE WARS

  • LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION: iPAD FILMS

    Use your imagination, creativity, and love of technology in a study of filmmaking basics. Using iPads, campers will learn how to write scripts, plan and sketch storyboards, film scenes, and edit their own short films. Campers will have the opportunity to make stop-action films, music videos, and feature films as well. In a fun culmination, we will host a film festival where all films will be screened! Take a walk down the “red carpet” as we celebrate your cinematic masterpieces at a special screening at the end of the week.
